:“Ice-cream can be sold in Australia for 10-11 months of the year, depending on your area; it is not just a summer "thing". Are you looking for a generous income that requires just 2-3 hours work per day with big money earned on weekends and school holidays as well as events and market days?Do you want your business parked in your driveway with next to no overheads? This van serves scoop ice-cream as well as cold drinks and milkshakes and operates without using a generator. The refrigeration system runs off a 240v/12v inverter (as well as solar and deep-cycle batteries) when active or 240v when stationary. When not working, the van simply plugs into 240v in your driveway or garage. The two freezers sit at around -18 and can hold around 120 litres of ice-cream. There is an Engel fridge for cold drinks. There is plenty of room for expansion with room for other options, like confectionary, snacks and crisps. The van is a 2004 Mercedes Sprinter in excellent condition with rego until Aug 2018.”

We are selling our 2004 diesel Mercedes BenzSprinter ice-cream van with automatic transmission. This is former ambulance van that has 183,500km on the clock. It is registered until August, 2018.It is mechanically sound in every way and is regularlyserviced and maintained. It has been morphed into an ice-cream van thatserves scoop ice-cream in cones and cups as well as cold drinks, iced treats, milkshakes, thickshakes and iced coffees etc. There is also room for sno-cones. The body is straight with no dents, apart from acouple of slight scratches here and there. Accessories include high-gradebull bar with spotlights and fully adjustable top-of-the-range driver andpassenger seats. There are also three specially fitted spotlightson each side and back, remnant of the van’s ambulance days. These are idealfor events at night. It is fitted with two air-conditioners – one thatservices the van’s cabin and the other that services the back of the van andworking area. There is an overhead music pack that plays severaldifferent “ice-cream tunes” for street vending as well as another unit that canplay music from thumb-drive as well as FM. There is also microphone jackand mic if this is ever needed at any type of event. Both these sound units have exterior speakersmounted above the driver’s cabin. This is the only ice-cream van currently servicingMoree Plains Shire on regular basis. There are two good-sized 12v/240v freezers thatcan hold approximately 100-120 litres of different flavoured ice-cream betweenthem. It also has milkshake mixer that is powered by a12v/240 inverter so it can be used while doing “street runs” or from 240v poweroutlet if attending an event. There is also 12v Engel fridge/freezer used forcold drinks. The van was completely fitted out by us. It hasplenty of cupboard space and overhead storage as well as specially made storagebins for wafer and waffle cones. The van has been fitted with high-gradestainless steel benchtop that includes sink with hand-pump water and aspecially recessed compartment to hold ice-cream scoops. The sink is serviced by two 20-litre tanks underthe counter that are used for fresh water and waste water. These are easilyemptied and refilled by using the side door access. The passenger side sliding door allows for verybig serving counter when open, which is ideal for events. Alternatively, there is smaller sliding windowused when doing street runs. The work area floor is fully coved and covered intough restaurant-grade linoleum. The van is currently “ticketed” and passed byMoree Plains Shire Council to work within the Moree Plains Shire however thiswould need to be transferred to other council shires within Australia.  What makes this ice-cream van unique from others isthe way it operates. noisy generator is not needed at any time. The 12v freezers operate through an inverter whileever the van’s engine is idling, meaning they are constantly running when thevan is mobile or stationary (if idling). This mode is used when doing street runs. Both freezers are powered by 12v deep cyclebatteries that are in turn continuously charged by an on-board battery charger (whenthe van is connected to 240v) as well as solar panels on the roof. They arealso charging while ever the van is running. The two on-board deep-cycle batteries arenear-new. They replaced the old ones in late September, 2016. Power can quickly be converted to 240v when thevan is stationary and attending events where 240v is available. There is 15-amp external, all-weatherpower-point for this purpose and this will run everything on board when atevents. If the van is attending an event that has noaccess to 240v power the van can be left idling and switched to 12v mode. Alternatively, both freezers will operate directlyfrom the deep-cycle batteries for between 15-20 hours. When the van is not operating and garaged or inthe driveway at home, it can be switched to 240v mode and plugged into any 240voutlet. Both freezers work exceptionally well and arecontrolled by digital thermostats. They are currently set at -18 degreesmaximum and -16 degrees minimum. This basically means that when the temperaturereaches -18 the freezer will shut off. When the temperature drops to -16degrees the freezer will re-start.This system is ideal and keeps the ice-cream at a“scoop-able” temperature at all times. The thermostats can be adjusted to anytemperatures. It is truly unique set-up that allows therefrigeration system and all on-board equipment to operate three differentways. As mentioned earlier, there is no need for anynoisy generators. In the tfour years we have owned the van we havespent substantial amount of money upgrading and tweaking the 12v/240voperating system, which works like dream. During this time both freezers have been fittedwith new compressors and all wiring throughout the van has been re-done.  The van has extensive artwork. This will need tobe changed slightly if sold. For example our contact phone number and websiteaddress will need to be removed. The van is currently called “Deluxe Café Moree’sCold Comforts”. We have no objection to any prospective buyer keeping the “ColdComforts” name. The ice-cream menu will need to be changed as welland “Norgen-Vaaz” logos removed if new owner decides to go with differentbrand. Sign-writing can be adjusted and updated at the costof the purchaser.A time-frame to do this can be agreed upon betweenboth parties. We are asking $49,990 (GST inclusive) firm plus stockat valuation at time of sale (if applicable, which doubt would exceed $1000). The van is stocked and ready to trade as soon as it leaves our driveway.Bank EFT only.We will also be on hand for advice and trainingduring your first couple of weeks. The van is ready to start work immediately. Text or call 0448 203621 for further details.
