For sale is this 1995 Volvo B10M which would be an ideal bus to put back into service or create the perfect motorhome. This vehicle has just come out of service from Sydney Metropolitan Bus Contract operator and was purchased by purely to preserve the original numberplate. We are in the business of running buses not buying selling, and as such this is genuine sale to clear room in our depot. It has spent time in our workshop making it worthy for sale.
This is the perfect bus for the following reasons:
- It is B10M Mk4, the very last model of one of the best, heavy duty chassis available. This particular model has the full mechanical injection pump which is far more reliable than the electronic model also available (for eg. in Brisbane B10M's). It is rated at 245HP and easily cruises at 100km/h at 2000rpm. You would expect fuel economy of between 28-32L per 100kms depending on the driving conditions.
- It is easy to drive with 5-speed ZF Automatic with retarder which was recently rebuilt (approx cost $12000), and can verify that it has particularly nice gear change and clean transmission fluid.
- It has full air bag suspension for very comfortable ride and is lot simpler to work on than leaf springs which sag with time and require expensive rebuilds with age.
- Body wise it features Custom Coach 210 Body which is less prone to rust as PMC or Austral Denning Pacific Product. Whilst it presents well in photos, this vehicle has the typical marks of vehicle that has spent its whole life working in the city and is not perfect cosmetically. Uniquely it features rear boot for extra storage which is near impossible to find in metropolitan bus. It is 55-seater. It has flat floor with 4x protrusions for wheel arches for the front and rear (photos included). It has bonded windows with hopper windows which in motorhome is superior as it is easier to panel up windows if required, and the hopper windows are less prone to rain entering over sliders.
- Dimensions are: Total Length 12200mm. The usable interior length from the last entry step to the back wall is 10400mm. Interior width wall to wall is 2350mm. Ceiling heights through the main cabin is 1980mm, reducing to 1830mm at the very rear for the riser for the rear boot.
- We have checked over the running gear and can confirm that the vehicle drives very well. Underneath is clean and shows evidence of recent engine work including new air-compressor (valued at $1800). Whilst the vehicle is used we believe it still has good amount of service life left. These motors are good for million kilometres, and believe it is in its second half of its life. Every one of our B10M's blows bit of smoke when cold but it clears up when warm. Only our recently rebuilt B10M has crystal clear exhaust on cold morning. As we purchased this vehicle sight unseen we do not have records, but have checked over the vehicle and have spent time on minor repairs. potential buyer is more than welcome to test drive and assess this vehicle.
The vehicle is located in our depot in Dural, Sydney. Inspections are welcome with an appointment. We only need to recover some of our costs purchasing this vehicle for its historic plate and as such have priced it for quick sale at $7990.00 which is unbeatable for value. This vehicle is worth far more in parts to us so we are negotiable to slight degree under certain circumstances so please ring for more information.
