Hi up for auction THE GENERAL, is my ford transit ,extra long wheel base transit 190, powered by the legendery 2,5 none turbo banana engine,registerd as 3.5 tons,having weighed the van after conversion it now weighs 3.2 tons so well under the legal limit for the younger driver ,  purchased this van as empty shell years ago started life as disabled minibus,complete with wheel chair lift, mechanicaly the van is 100%, having comlpeted approx 10 miles since mot and service in april listed is the mechanical works carried out since my ownership , 1, last year full recon gear box, and new part heavy duty clutch fitted, cost £750, done 500 miles since fitted, 2, new battery3 ,6 new tyres expensive steering tyres on front 4, new timing belt years ago , 5 ,two new front springs6 full service every mot, 7 new exhausts fitted last winter, 8, new alternator, 9, steam cleaned underside years ago and wax oiled, ready to do again now. i will add, there is NO welding on the chassie, or on any sctructal parts of this van it is very clean and for van of this age, did however have welding done on the outriggers, ,this was to fastern in the coach work and was done at costs of £500, when first got it also having  power steering ,and speed box, the van drives very well will happly cruise at 65 ,mph but having to drop through the gears on the hills, returns great mpg, the engine always starts first time never burns any oil at all and never having to top up in between servicing, there is plenty of years motoring left in this van also copletet wiyh 3.1/2 trolley jack and full size wheel wrench, to note this van is twin rear wheel think thats the oily stuff, this van was maitained along with my works vans, so it pretty was maintained regardless of cost , 

INSIDE,All work was carried out by myself, the flooring is reclaimed yellow pine floor boards, kitchen units solid oak flooring reclaimed from customers house 2" solid one piece oak slab, full size vintage calor gas oven grill and hob sink and foot operated water to the tap full size double bed to the rear there is also double seat in the back with two point belts, this is on unwin tracking ,and can be removed /turned side ways when parked up and is great for visitors, and will note you will get pleanty of them at festivals etc, the max we had in at bearded theroy last year was 15 people,! loads storage space and hooks shelfs,also new cd player made some speakers in boxs that can be taken outside the van and these work great, new 125watt solar, and leasure battery, remote control strip lights and remote mukti colured stip lights, have never run the batterys down there is pleanty of surplus power and you could add to the existing arrangements,under the bed is huge storage space which holds the gas bottle fire wood etc the wood burner fitted proffesionally am hetas registed fitter, so used twin wall flue,etc, the stove works well, not to big, as is in most cases works great on charcole and coal and wood,  To the back fitted two timber opeing windows and timber double doors, this gives it very traditional feel barrell top romany wagon etc recently repainted the wood work last spring out side painted it british racing green and claret, not the best paint job but ads to the feel of this van ,I could go on ,n on on wont, this van need to be seen to see the detail it not just camper, feel it lot more and is reflected in the comments when out and about we have partyed hard in it, gone all over the uk ireland scotland festivals to many to mention weekends away etc etc ,

On 01-May-19 at 19:48:22 BST, seller added the following information:   STOP PRESS ,Hi  just few points missed, there is double seat behind the drivers seat so you are able to carry three people with full seat belts, forward facing seats unfortunally the seats are out of shot, secondly there is gas fridge fitted, stopped working last year purchased 12v halfords cool box (large one COOL BEERS  all weekend  ), this happly runs of the solar 12v no problem and could be thrown in with the sale,  lastly many thansk for all the postive comments keep getting I  am quiet taken aback with the feed back on the general if however your are not luckly enought  to win the auction all is not lost  if you would like conversion of similar apperance and style please keep note of my mobile number am happy to carry out any work required on your own conversion or drop you new purchase of at my yard we can carry out all the magic  to create lovely space , think thats it, many thansk ,
