T4 2.4D cylinder manual. Used as daily driver last years. LEZ compliant! I imported it from Berlin, lots of paper work.
6 seats registered as an MPV.M.O.T. Until July 2020.
All factory standard. Factory towbar and socket fitted.Recent set of commercial tyres new front pads. Alloys are correct load type for this van.
Always gets through MOT, always gets me to and from all trips! Its very reliable car and has character, but drives amazingly well. The 2.4 is very smooth and powerfull engine, more torque than the turbos. And...economical! About 37mpg
Foibles...noisy input shaft bearing...I have new clutch included with the car, and I've been meaning to replace the input shaft, but until need to do the clutch..I just live with it.
Steering rack has about 2cm play seen on the circumference of the steering wheel. Passed all MOT like that..so recently replaced the steering pump. Slightly uneven power occasionally, tracked to electrical fault on dash..supply to cut off solenoid (replaced), it's no big deal. Fuel gauge under reads below 1/4.
No real modifications. Electronic temp, correct load alloys.
New/recent rad, starter, driveshafts, headgasket, cut off solenoid, steering pump, vac pump, injectors, mounts, tyres, pads, led internal lights,
Interior and body good for age. (Mileage is km 380k) think that’s actually 240k miles, put 260k previously.
The fridge slides out under the jump seat, the table pops up on quick release strut, and the rear seat simply pulls forward and the back support drops down to make double bed. It’s all factory standard and really quick. Also it leaves you with an interior space to dress, put shoes on, we use it for dog bed space, so the dog is never on the seats. Has two boot spaces, huge area under rear seat that extends all the way to the rear kick panel, and is extended as the bed pulls forward providing more space. There is also large storage area behind the rear seat, easily accessible from the hatch boot. There is fiamma bike rack available too.
The nice thing about this van is it’s low enough (under 2mtr, standard ride height) to get in all parking spaces, and it’s swb meaning it’s fits in normal car space. For places like Cornwall it’s essential. Pop tops leak, and are security risk, love hard tops.
I’ve put it up for very reasonable starting price. think it’s worth lot more. The bodywork could be easily improved cosmetically, and then it would be worth £1500-£2000 more. I’ve looked after it mechanically, oil changes often, really good head gasket and head skim...and de tuned it so it’s smoother, and not to stress the head. It could give more power if the mixture screw were adjusted, but like it as it is.
The interior is pretty good for the age, all original. The seats are still comfortable, no problems really...one antifreeze stain on the jump seat...few little corners wearing, but...smoke free, dash is looking good..oh have added white dials with red needles as it was in KM, now reads MPH. The dash light is recessed dimmable led. Big improvement on the original, without looking wrong, also added simple digital temperature gauge for more accuracy.
Please feel free to ask any questions, it’s been very good car to us, but we are sailing away and will not need car in spring!
