2006 Hymer B655 Starline Mercedes 4 berth for sale
Current customer rating: (3) based on 10 votes
This is the sale of our beautiful Hymer berth motorhome. It is the second one we have owned due to the sublime build quality. The panoramic view from the driver and passenger seats is wonderful. It is based on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis with the famous 'half million mile engine' timing chain no belt to replace). The engine is 2.7CDi Mercedes turbo diesel and it has speed manual transmission. It has currently done 74,100 miles. We have MoT certificates illustrating the mileage back to 2011. It has done roughly 5k mile pa on average and looks to have been regularly used (it does them no good to sit around for long periods of time). During the winter ours is stored on our drive, with the cover on, electric hook-up plugged in with the heating on very low. It has full service history and comes with the orignal vehicle manual and file of relevant paperwork. It was last serviced in June 2019 and has habitation certificate from the same time including damp report.
This one has the layout with the lounge/dining area at the front, which makes good use of the swivel front seats, and is very light and airy. This is due to the location of the windows and the fact that this particular model has no drop-down bed above the cab, meaning more headroom and tons of internal cupboard space. The fixed dining table drops down to form the base for converting the settees into double bed. There is also the main, fixed french bed at the back. The kitchen area is in the middle and consists of an immaculate 3-burner hob, 150L fridge, separate 25L freezer and separate gas oven and lots of drawers and cupboard space. The fridge and freezer run on gas, 12v or 230v and have an 'auto' setting which detects the most appropriate available source. The fixed bed is at the rear with lots of light and ventilation. The substantial 'boot' storage area is beneath the bed, as is the Truma combi boiler. This area can be accessed either internally by lifting the (hydraulically assisted) bed or from the access hatch outside. External storage is further enhanced by pull out drawer on the near-side that we use for tools, hosepipes, levelling chocks and things that you made need easy access to. The bathroom is also to the rear at the side of the bed. This consists of swivel loo with Thetford cassette and electric flush. Also wash basin with hot and cold mixer tap, cupboards, shelves and large shower. Outside there is large wind-out Omnistor awning. We are also including our Vango ground sheet and inflatable awning https://www.vango.co.uk/gb/blog/vango-airaway-attar-inflatable-drive-away-awn.html. The awning takes of us around 20-30 min's to put up and adds an enormous amount of additional living space. Also included is close fitting storage cover. It has small tear in one corner but is still perfectly serviceable. We use the bus mainly for of us which means there is LOTS of room. On the odd occasion that our adult son has joined us, the second bed converts in minutes. It has seat belts, one for each of the front seats.
