For Sale 1968 Dodge A100 Camper VanFreeway Traveller CamperConversion - Registered as historicvehicle- MOT and TAX exempt - 10 Months MOT (Just because– Always passes)- Small block V8- Automatic gearbox I imported this van from Texas4 years ago and have gone through everything to make it reliable anduseable.  Last summer we drove it back from Santander Spain, over2000 miles and it performed faultlessly, we did long weekend to Bruges’ andwe have been to loads of festivals all over the UK.  Very dependableclassic camper van, it has character like old VW’s but loves hills, sounds likea vehicle should and puts smile on everyone’s face. This A100 is the longerwheelbase (A108) so has decent amount of room inside.  It hasfactory power assist steering, which is very rare, and power disk brakes, as aresult it drives more like modern vehicle.   You can sit onthe motorway at 80mph all day if you want but it’s bit more refined at 65,what’s the rush anyway. The interior is completely newbut has been made the same as the original using real Oak veneer boardthroughout.  Everything is new, the van was stripped bare and reinsulted etc… As such the leisure battery, WAECO Fridge, lights etc… are all new.  Thereis two-burner stove and sink with water tank under the van. Thepop-top roof is very tall and in the summer it’s brilliant, provides loads oflight and ventilation.  I would class the van as berth howeverthere are fixings in place for canvas hammock in the pop-top and there isspace in the van for another one in the front if needed. Mechanically everything hasbeen gone through:- Rebuilt gearbox and newdrive shaft.- Every brake component/linereplaced for power disks.- Top end rebuild, rebuiltcarb etc…- Fuel system new includingthe tank, sender and pump.- Cooling system new includingthe radiator re-cored with three rows.- New shocks and arb links.- Regular servicing, plugs andleads etc…- New starter and re-wiring.- New alternator and battery.- New timing chain…. The listgoes on The engine has the original2bbl carburetor and choke that works just as when it left thefactory.  It is smooth, pulls hard and sounds brilliant, parts are easyto get hold of, it was very common engine used in lots of Chrysler vehicles. The van was originally fromCalifornia before Texas, as result it’s incredibly dry underneath, rocksolid.  The bodywork is honest and original, what you see is what youget, the original paint shines up ok.  I waxoyled inside the lowerbody channels and inside the gutters just to prevent the English weather fromdoing its thing.  I also fitted new windscreen. I don’t need to sell, justfigured out like projects more than like using them and would likesomething else.  This has been really looked after vehicle, wouldnot hesitate to turn the key and drive it to Lacanau tomorrow (I wish…) Any questions let me know, based in Braunton North Devon.
