It is with huge regret that we have to sell Primrose, our beautiful original Westfalia pop top, due to an unforseen house move and consequent lack of space..

We acquired her in 2016 her previous owner had owned her since 2003 and restored her to her current condition. We have box of photos and receipts recording the work done which included not only mechanical rebuild and bodywork restoration but also many practical and modern improvements which are listed below.The paintwork, in particular, was done to high standard and is still in superb condition.

Primrose was parked in dry heated garage after restoration and, apart from occasional runs to maintain the battery etc. she was not used, which meant that she remained well preserved until we bought her.

Externally:-

She is genuine head turner and, apart from stone chip or two, her paintwork is in beautiful condition. Structurally she is completely sound and her chassis and cavities panels doors have been Waxoyled and or sealed.

Internally:-

The Westfalia fixtures and fittings are all present and in great shape although there are obviously signs of use from the last 40 years. These include wardrobe, built in double hob, sink unit with water tank and hand pump, rock and roll bed, table that can be extended, swivelled, folded or removed, overhead lockers and underbed lockers that can be accessed from the front or top.

The original hob has had the hose and regulator renewed and works perfectly.

There is 35L fridge.

The front seats have been updated to later recliners with headrests and the original tan upholstery has been recovered throughout in Primrose cloth the covers on the front seats are removable and washable ).

The door cards and all the roof and wall lining have been replaced and insulated with wool throughout.

The floor has been lined with Deadmat throughout and then layer of high performance underlay and carpet.

The pop top works perfectly and the canvas is as new.

There are additional LED lights in the roof and pop top.

There are 240v sockets.

There is leisure battery monitor with twin USB sockets. 

JVC Radio CD changer however, no speakers since they were cheap plastic things that removed soon after purchase and have not yet replaced them as far as know it all works but cannot confirm this or demonstrate it.

The rock roll bed is full width and very comfortable for adults.

The upper bunk is fine for or smaller children or older child.

Also included is Kampa Travelpod driveaway awning in very good condition.

There are fittings in place for cab hammock for baby or small child but this would need to be obtained separately.

The heating is not great and modern diesel Ebersbacher heater which worked at any time independently of the engine was fitted but removed when an electric hookup was installed we tend to use small electric radiator. have kept the whole Ebersbacher kit, which worked perfectly when removed, and this could easily be reinstalled since left the important sections of the wiring in place.

Mechanically -

She has litre engine from slightly later T2 which provides useful increase in power over the original 1600. had rolling road tune last year and an electronic distributor was fitted so regular points adjustment is now unnecessary. There are oil pressure and temperature guages.

The brakes, clutch and gearbox were all checked over and any new parts required were fitted during the rebuild this would have been less than 1500 miles ago. 

She is exempt from Tax and MOT and had routine service in July 2018 since which she has covered less than 700 miles. We generally only use her in the summer months with few runs in the winter to keep her running well but certainly not in wet or icy weather.
